  • Photo identification is required to register for a library card
  • Please bring your library card to check out items. Proof of identity may be requested if you do not present your card.
  • You are responsible for the cost of lost or damaged books.
  • Children under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Please ask for a complete 'patron code of conduct.'
  • Historical Collection Room visitors must make an appointment one day in advance to use the room.
  • Service is our top priority! Please contact the Library Director with any concerns you may have.

Meet Your Librarians

Mallory Pillard - Library Director

Mallory is the Carnegie Public Library Director - our resident leader. Mallory is more the "fun" boss than the "get to work!" boss and has been at the library for almost 4 years. She sets the tone for the library to be a central community fixture, available to everyone.

She likes to hang out with her friends or around town, probably eating lunch at the Cafe or Tees Me Treat Me. Mallory is always available to listen and lend a helping hand.


Shawna Nall - Assistant Library Director

Shawna is the Assistant Library Director - the boss when The Boss (aka Mallory) is away. She takes care of the details that help the library run smoothly. From scheduling staff and reviewing timecards to managing the money and solving difficult problems, Shawna's been leading the library with heart for almost 15 years. Shawna runs the Homebound Library-By-Mail service and the Volunteer Engagement Program.

A Trinidad native, Shawna personifies the friendly and familiar feel of the town. Shawna's steady leadership is crucial to the success of the library.


Phyllis Kilgroe - Youth Services Specialist

Phyllis is the library's Children's Department Expert! She handles all of the children's programs and helps design the summer reading program since joining the CPL team 5 years ago. After retiring from a teaching career, she loves that she can continue to instill the importance of reading to children and youth of our community.

She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, and going for a daily walk.


Tom Potter - Trinidad History Room Coordinator & Teen/Adult Services Specialist

Tom Potter is our Trinidad History Room Coordinator and Teen/Adult Services Specialist. He helps patrons find information about Trinidad's past. He also runs various programs at the library, including Nostalgic Movie Night, and writes the monthly newsletter.

Tom's quick wit and outgoing personality have made him a patron-favorite. His favorite library program is Oratory Night. If you're interested in using the history room, please complete the form by clicking here .


Sierra Howard - Cataloging/ILL Specialist

Sierra is the Cataloging/ILL Specialist aka Trinidad's Book Wizard. She works on ensuring the library's books are properly organized, both on our shelves and in the AspenCat system. She combs through patron requests for new items and stays up-to-date on new releases from popular authors.

Sierra makes it easy to find the item you're looking for, but if you can't find it on our shelves or the AspenCat system, you can count on her to find it for you. She may be the quiet and reclusive librarian but Sierra is crucial to keeping the library functioning smoothly.


Brian LeDoux - Library Clerk

Brian is the other half of the Great Front Desk Duo, along with Karon. Brian's soft-spoken and kind nature makes him a patron-favorite and he's always willing to help with any patron request. He's also in charge of labeling all the items in the library, making it simple for you to find what you're looking for.

Brian likes to listen to music and read in his free time. He's one of the longest-serving member of the Library team and loved by the patrons.


Karon Malouff - Library Clerk

Karon is the front desk clerk at the library and she is always willing to lend a helping hand. She moved back to Trinidad a few years ago to be closer to children and grandchildren. She has been a kind and consistent presence at the library.

Karon's favorite book is "After the Fact" by Owen Herd. In her free time, she likes to travel and spend time with her big family.


Rahma Siddiqui - Library Clerk

Rahma is the newest member of the Carnegie Public Library staff. She moved to Trinidad over the summer from Chicago and considers herself very lucky for have gotten the position at the library. You can find her at the front desk or in the back office, usually working on some sort of project.

Rahma spends her free time cooking or working on different crafts. Her favorite author is Nora Roberts.
